Community Guidelines
Last updated: March 2026
Our Community
Eolas Nua is built around the idea that studying is better together. Our squad features create a community of Leaving Cert students supporting each other through one of the most important challenges of their academic lives. These guidelines exist to keep that community positive, fair, and encouraging for everyone.
Be Respectful
Treat all squad members and fellow users with respect and kindness. Our community has no place for:
- Bullying, harassment, or intimidation of any kind.
- Negative or discouraging comments about other users' study efforts or progress.
- Discrimination based on background, ability, school, or any other factor.
Remember that everyone is here for the same reason: to do their best in the Leaving Cert. Be the kind of squad mate you would want to have.
Fair Play
The integrity of our study tracking and leaderboard features depends on honest participation from every user:
- Do not manipulate study times, session durations, or statistics through any means.
- Report your study sessions honestly — leaderboards should reflect genuine effort.
- Do not use automated tools, scripts, or exploits to artificially inflate your stats.
Squad Etiquette
Squads work best when every member contributes to a positive atmosphere:
- Be an active squad member — consistent participation keeps everyone motivated.
- Encourage your teammates, especially when they are going through difficult study periods.
- Celebrate each other's progress, milestones, and streaks.
- Keep competition friendly — the goal is mutual improvement, not tearing others down.
Content Standards
All user-generated content within Eolas Nua must meet the following standards:
- Squad names and usernames must be appropriate and inoffensive.
- No offensive, discriminatory, or sexually explicit language or imagery.
- No promotion of illegal activities, substances, or harmful behaviour.
- No sharing of personal information belonging to others without their consent.
Reporting
If you encounter behaviour that violates these guidelines, we want to hear about it:
- Use the in-app reporting feature to flag inappropriate content or behaviour.
- Alternatively, email us directly at support@eolasnua.ie with details of your concern.
- All reports are reviewed promptly and treated confidentially. We will never reveal the identity of the person who made a report.
Enforcement
Violations of these community guidelines may result in the following actions, depending on severity and frequency:
- Warning — a notification informing you of the violation and expected behaviour.
- Temporary restriction — limited access to squad or social features for a defined period.
- Account suspension — for repeated or serious violations, your account may be suspended permanently.
We aim to be fair and proportionate in all enforcement decisions. Our goal is always to maintain a supportive environment, not to punish users unnecessarily.
